Frank Chiu, principal of the firm served in the administrations of San Francisco Mayors Frank Jordan, Willie Brown, and Gavin Newsom as Chief Building Official and Director of San Francisco Department of Building Inspection. As Director, Mr. Chiu Directed and managed all the activities of over 285 professional engineers & architects, plan checkers, building, electrical, housing, plumbing inspectors and various staff in the enforcement of various construction and building safety codes to ensure that life and property within the City and County are safeguarded. He was also responsible for the coordination of permit approval and issuance process to assure that the proposed construction work meets City Planning, Fire Prevention, Public Health and Department of Public Works requirements.
